Preserving Little Cottonwood Canyon through outreach and research.

Concerned residents of the Salt Lake Valley who are volunteering our time and energy (uncompensated) to help preserve Little Cottonwood Canyon in its beautiful, natural state.

Who We Are:

Our Mission:

To identify and fund comprehensive efforts to educate the broad community of Utah residents and our many visitors about the special treasure we possess in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

  • As population growth will continue to pressure the Canyon, Utah needs to take measures to protect LCC. The Foundation aims to identify and support science-based research efforts to better understand LCC's capacity to absorb increasing visitor volume, while maintaining its' beauty, environmental purity, and recreation opportunities.

  • As the critical watershed for the Salt Lake Valley, LCC must be maintained and enhanced in its' ability to deliver high volumes of quality water for years to come, while accommodating increased recreational use.

  • We will communicate the results of such efforts to the broad community of stakeholders in order to help shape the conversation about what are the best strategies to preserve LCC in its' current beautiful state.
